I’m back (again).

I am really sorry for acting like a crybaby every few weeks and announcing that I need another break from blogging, again. I am quite the perfectionist and I wanted my blog to be perfect, which put a lot of pressure on me because I could never to live up to my own expectations.

But during this last break I had an epiphany, all of a sudden realizing that my blog will never be perfect because perfection doesn’t exist (why did no one tell me this??). I realized that I will never fully like my blog, just like I will never fully like myself. I will never like what I write or be satisfied with the design, but that’s okay.

So, from now on, this blog will be perfectly imperfect.

Bye for now

I don’t know when, or if, I’ll be back. You can still find me on twitter and send me your music via email, but nothing will be written here.

To those involved in the ‘secret’ project I have been working on for quite a long time now: don’t worry, it will see the light of day. I apologize for being the worst at projects. I will be in touch.

CCC3.0

When two months ago I announced that I would be taking a break from blogging, I also told you that some day I would be back. And that day is almost there. Somewhere next week, during the first week of the new year, I’ll start sharing and writing about music again. Back to the old format.

Before I do so, I would like to properly end 2011. It has been a very strange year for me personally and I haven’t been listening to as much music as I wish I had, but I have put together a small list of albums and EPs, released in 2011, that defined the year for me. I probably forgot some.

I have also had the pleasure of getting to know a lot of nice people this year, most of them thanks to countless hours in the mumu. I don’t feel like putting their names here, I think they know who they are. There is one person that I’ll make an exception for though, because I can’t write about 2011 without giving a special mention to the wonderful Unholy Rhythms. I just want to listen to music with her forever, till the world ends…

To everyone that didn’t forget about me: thank you and have a great 2012! #pray4ccc

Halloween Intermission

Those who follow me on twitter know that I have decided to take a break from blogging for a while. Again. The last couple of weeks I have had a hard time trying to find good new music to include in my mixes. But I realized that it might not have anything to do with the amount of good music being produced, but with me. That’s why I’m taking some time to decide what’s next for me and for the blog. But I will be back, so there’s no need for all of you hardcore fans out there to be sad.

I would like to take the opportunity, since today is October 31st, to talk about two Halloween-related projects, both of them compilations, that everyone needs to know about. If you already do: yay! If you don’t: please read on.

This first compilation is called “My Dearest Killer…” and was put together by the brilliant Unholy Rhythms. Last year’s Halloween mixtape, “Abraded Ghosts”, must have been one of the first things I picked up on her blog and I have been looking forward to the next one ever since. And I wasn’t disappointed. On the contrary.

What I love about this particular compilation is that, even though all the tracks were conceived individually by different artists, listening to it feels like one continuous journey. The three first tracks create such an amazing atmosphere that I found myself whispering “uuuuuughhrgllgh” (or something similar). So if you haven’t already, please go download “My Dearest Killer” right now. You don’t want to miss out!

Artists: Dream Boat, The North Sea, Kidcity, GOSTS, LUST, …

Next: “The Chiller”. Cassette label Chill Mega Chill has to be one of the coolest labels out there (and definitely the chillest). Recently they released a horror-themed cassette featuring exclusive tracks by CMC’s artists. It is available as a free download, but it’s definitely worth getting the actual cassette (if there are still copies left, that is). Get it here!

Artists: Ricky Eat Acid, Exeter, Holy Spirits, Pariah Carey, Hourglass Sea, …

CCC2.0

This is my first post in months, which feels weird. Back in May I lost the will to write about music. I felt like I had nothing to say and that feeling still lingers. Never did I stop searching for good music though, because there is a lot of it out there that needs uncovering. Lately I’ve missed sharing what I find though, so from now on I’ll be posting tracks again.

Instead of writing about each of them separately, like I used to, I will be bundling those tracks and upload them as mixtapes to 8tracks. Tracklists will be posted here on the blog, where I will also embed the 8tracks mix. I hope to do this every couple of weeks, depending on the amount of music I come across.

I have created a new 8tracks account for these mixes particularly, so follow me there if you want. I’ll also be keeping you updated via twitter and maybe facebook.

First mix will be up tomorrow!

Clap Clap Colour on the Hype Machine

The Hype Machine

My blog got added to the Hype Machine today! I’m really happy now because the songs I post will be easier to find, increasing the chance that people find their way to music I think deserves more attention. At the moment there are 26 songs on my blog channel, so show them some love right now by clicking the image above!

Also, nice to know my blog gets tagged as “dead music”.

The New Look

Time for a change of scenery, don’t you think? Personally I was getting really tired of how my blog looked, so I decided to change it. I made some minor changes (fonts, margins, the whole deal), but the biggest alteration is the background image as you can see. It’s a picture I took in mid November when the first snow had made a rather sizable white mountain on my window ledge. The previous near-white background was rather dull, so I hope that this one is more cosy and can get my followers from behind their tumblr dashboards. Wishful thinking.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who stop by once in a while. I really appreciate it. Also a big thank you to those of you who follow me on tumblr, twitter (just reached 200!) or other stalking devices.

Finally also a word of thanks to the best air synth player in the world for giving me her honest opinion, and to Adnan from Called Understandable Souls for helping me out: tack så hemskt mycket!

I thought I’d do a post, since 100 followers is kind of milestone. Just want to thank all of you guys for liking what I do, at least, I hope that you do and also for introducing me to music I wouldn’t have otherwise listened to. When I first started this blog at the end of July this year I couldn’t even have imagined what it would be like and that it would be so much fun. It’s just been amazing to share thoughts with other bloggers and to get in contact with some amazing musicians as well. I hope to go on with Clap Clap Colour for an indefinite period of time and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me (and everyone elso for that matter).

If that sounded corny, I’m sorry (but not really).

Okay, as some sort of thank you I thought I’d have you take a look at some images I’ve been working on. I’ll just use them as profile pictures right now but I might develop it into actual artwork for my blog later on. We’ll see. I think they go together with the blog name pretty well.

Sneak peak:

THANK YOU EVERYONE!
