I first heard “Heavy Petting” a couple of days ago, when Darragh (@sacredanimals) played it in plug.dj, which is probably the new turntable.fm. The intro didn’t seem very promising, but layer after layer it got more hypnotizing until, towards the middle of the track, I was completely won over. One visit to Parisian’s soundcloud page later I learned that he would be releasing a new EP on April 6th, which was yesterday.

Those Emotions Ran High is filled with seductive downtempo tracks that will make you feel all drowsy. The reverb-drenched vocals, reversed drum samples and airy synthesizers will make you want to snuggle up to someone under a soft blanket, while “Heavy Petting” and “Audrey Horne” feature heavier synths and a more pounding percussion. Overall this EP is one of the better ones I have heard in quite a while.
